How we started

In September 2020, my mom Rachel was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer for the second time. As a runner, I started a Miles for Moms fundraiser right after her diagnosis to help with her treatment and raise awareness for a disease that affects 1 in 8 women in the U.S. I ran one mile for every US$25 raised during October, completing 256 miles and raising US$7,500 for Rachel's care and breast cancer research.

Since then, the Miles for Moms event has grown every year. In 2024, we became an official non-profit, allowing us to donate all proceeds directly to those in need. Every dollar and mile makes a real difference. Thank you to everyone who has supported us over the past five years! We look forward to seeing you this year at the DCR Great Brook Farm State Park in Carlisle, MA, or virtually, to support those facing breast cancer.
